The Visual Communication Design Program at Nusa Putra University has once again successfully held the National Seminar on Design, Tourism, and Creative Industries (Narsistik) at the UNP auditorium in Sukabumi on Monday.
The event, themed “Positioning Visual Communication Design Education for Industry and Information Technology Development,” attracted around 250 participants, including students, academics, and industry practitioners in visual communication design. Additionally, there were 30 presenters who submitted papers for presentation.
Firman Mutaqin, the Head Organizer of Narsistik, emphasized that the national seminar is a regular event hosted by UNP’s DKV Program.
This year’s seminar marks the second edition organized by the program.
“We opted for an offline format this year, featuring distinguished speakers such as Eka Sofyan Rizal, Chair of the Indonesian DKV Professional Association, and Surianto Rustan, a renowned DKV lecturer and author,” he told Radar Sukabumi.
The Narsistik Seminar, part of the broader Narsistik initiative by the DKV program, serves as a platform for scholarly discourse among academics and industry professionals. It facilitates discussions on design, industry practices, and education while fostering connections among stakeholders.
In addition to the seminar, the event includes a call for papers, offering researchers an opportunity for scholarly publication. Accepted papers will be published in seminar proceedings with an ISBN and in the Dasarupa journal, catering to researchers’ publication needs.
Mutaqin emphasized that the event aims to promote scholarly discourse and showcase the Visual Communication Design Program at Nusa Putra University, focusing on tourism, creative industries, and SMEs.
